Portraits

"Around 2010, I worked on a project of portraits of famous American Artists. Drawn with charcoal, pastels and charcoal pencils, the large scale portraits were shown in 2011 at Sragow Gallery in Chelsea, New York. The exhibition, "Face Value" included three portraits of well known American poets. Ron Padgett, Bill Berkson and Bob Holeman. Several of the portraits of the show "Face Value" have been shown in different venues. One portrait was acquired by the Smithsonian, the National Portrait Gallery and in the fall of 2017 the drawings were shown as a solo Exhibition at the Columbus Museum of Art in South Carolina. The drawings are on heavy paper and are around 6'0' x 7'0'." - Alhponse van Woerkom
